NATIONAL EXAMINED PATENT DOCUMENT

            The product developed by the faculty members and staff of the Department of Virology at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Prof.Dr. Mehmet KALE, Prof.Dr. Yakup YILDIRIM, Dr.Lecturer Sibel HASIRCIOĞLU, Research Assistant Dr.Hasbi Sait SALTIK), faculty member of the Department of Internal Medicine (Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nuri MAMAK), faculty member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Dr.Lecturer Mesih KOCAMÜFTÜOĞLU), faculty member of the Department of Virology at Konya Selçuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Prof.Dr. Sibel YAVRU) and employees of Hayat Pharmacy (Pharmacist Ahmet AK and Pharmacy Technician Ramazan ŞENCAN) has been granted a National Examined Patent under the title“Topical Ointment Developed for Warts (Papillomas) and Orf Resulting from Viral Infections in Skin and Mucous Membranes of Animals”. The patent document (No: TR 2017 11813 B) was granted by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on 22/07/2019, to be protected for 20 years starting from 10/08/2017 under the Industrial Property Law No. 6769.

            The ointment developed will be used in the treatment of papillomavirus-induced warts occurring in the skin and mucous membranes of cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats, as well as in the treatment of orf virus-induced sores occurring in the skin and mucous membranes of sheep and goats. From this stage onwards, it is planned to convert the developed topical ointment into a commercial product.
